Frequently Asked Questions

What curriculum is used at Elohim?
Elohim is a Learning Centre that facilitates learners from Level R-12 that makes use of IMPAQ’S CAPS curriculum.

How does Elohim facilitate home-schooled learners?
Our subject experts tutor 8 learners per group, which makes it possible for each learner to reach his or her full potential each term. Our centres have a “homey” environment that makes kids feel at ease and fun, loving subject expert that makes them feel loved.

IMPAQ’S curriculum is easy to use and are created in such a manner for learners to continue with work on their own before or after tutor sessions. The subject expert helps the learners to work out a schedule according to their own pace, where all work that needs to be done for the term can be ticked off and tracked daily by the learner, parents and the subject expert.  We mark all the activities and task that’s completed to make sure all the work was understood and that the learners are ready for assessments.  All assessments which includes tests, tasks, exams and orals will be marked by the subject expert or IMPAQ at the end or during the term.

As from January 2019 we will be making use of CAMI Education’s state of the art computer Program, during centre hours to help learners excel in English, Afrikaans, Reading, Maths and Science.

How does assessment work for Grade 12’s?

All the assessments for Grade 12 are marked by IMPAQ.

Tests and exams are written at our Centres and then sent to IMPAQ at the end of each term for evaluation. November exams gets written at a SACAI approved Centre and then marked by SACAI. Due to the credibility of SACAI, learners can go to University with this Matric report, should their marks allow it.

How are fees structured for Elohim and IMPAQ monthly/yearly?

Our fees for 2019 are R3200 per month over a 12-month period and a once off registration fee of R2500 which is due on the day of registration and non-refundable once payment has been made.

The above mentioned prices does not include IMPAQS curriculum. Parents still need to register their child with IMPAQ.

Impaq requires a deposit and then the remaining amount can be settled monthly until 1 November of the year that the learner is registered.

Do you facilitate children with special needs?
Unfortunately, we do not facilitate children with special needs. In cases where children are ADHD or ADD and on medication that allows them to function on the same level as a child without ADHD or ADD, we can make exceptions. This needs to be communicated with the Head of the Centre and then a decision will be made after a meeting with the parent and facilitator have been held.
Do you wear uniforms?
No, children can wear their normal clothes to the Centre as we are not a school, we are a Facilitating Centre.

What are your operating hours?
Monday to Thursday from 08:00 to 13:30
Friday’s from 08:00 to 12:30.
We try to keep our times and holidays the same as Government Schools due to the fact that children might have siblings in Government Schools and prefer them to have holidays on the same dates.

Do we have to register our children as home-school learners with the Western Cape Education Department?
Yes, you do have to. You can contact IMPAQ’S Legal Department for assistance. They will guide you step-by-step.
